Financial Weightage of Light-Weight Motorcycles

Volume Sales, Fuel-efficiency, On-road manoeuvrability A decade ago, almost all manufacturers released fairly uninspired, derivative lightweight motorcycles that fit the commuter model, and sold like hot cakes irrespective of lacking common features in American bikes. Not to mention they were fugly like Satan’s spawn. They would make the mid-weight class look like a run-of-the-mill hack job, with the primary focus on cutting costs wherever possible. Thankfully, Royal Enfield changed all of that and stepped up its game with each new model release. First Royal Enfield Electric Prototype

with inputs by Enrico Punsalang from https://www.rideapart.com First Royal Enfield Electric Prototype Expected To Break Cover In 2023 The manufacturer is set to build a new factory where electric motorcycles will eventually be produced. The words “electric” and “retro” don’t usually belong in the same sentence, especially when it comes to motorcycles. However, Royal Enfield, who previously announced that it was developing its very first electric motorcycle may be nearing a working prototype. Electric motorcycles will never be able to exude the same charm and riding sensation as that of a thumpy single-cylinder, or a burly parallel-twin, but it can make up for this when it comes to styling, and ultimately, fit and finish. That is of course the specialty of Royal Enfield, distinguishing it from all the ‘modern’ motorcycles. Plus, Enfield’s cost a fraction of the price and establishes your own unique presence on the road. Little is known about the specifics of Royal Enfield’s upcoming EV adventure. Enfield is reportedly gearing up to ramp up its production. Specifically, the company has recently acquired a new 60-acre parcel of land in Cheyyar near Chennai, where a new, cutting-edge production facility is set to be constructed. There are reports from multiple Indian motoring publications which suggest that Enfield’s first EV will eventually be manufactured in this hi-tech facility. Endield EV is undergoing development in its exisitng Vallam Vadagal plant with a dedicated production line set up precisely for RE’s EV range of bikes. Maybe another facility may come up through Stark Motor, a Spanish EV firm Royal Enfield recently acquired. Stark’s technology could play a major role in the development of Royal Enfield’s upcoming EV line. Also, its no secret about Royal Enfield being in no rush to produce its electric vehicle range. The company has emphasized it wants “to

Paris Climate Accord Vs Paris e-scooters

Parisians vote to ban e-scooters from French capital An overwhelming majority of Parisians voted to ban electric scooters from the streets of the French capital on Sunday, in a non-binding referendum that city authorities have said they would follow. The ban won between 85.77% and 91.77% of the votes in the 20 Paris districts that published results, according to the City of Paris website on what was billed as a rare “public consultation” and prompted long queues at ballot boxes around the city. “I preferred to vote against, because in Paris it’s a mess. The way it’s organised, the danger that it creates in Paris, the visual pollution, it’s not good.” said a railway worker. Cities worldwide are tightening regulations on e-scooters, limiting the number of operators as well as speed and where they can park. Electric scooters accessed through smartphone apps have operated in Paris since 2018, but following complaints about their anarchic deployment, Paris in 2020 cut the number of operators to three. They were given a three-year contract, required that scooters’ speed be capped at 20 km/hour and imposed designated scooter parking areas. The current contracts will run until September 2023. Other restrictions were checking if users age was over 18, fixing licence plates so police could identify traffic offenders and limiting to one passenger. On Sunday, operators such as Tier and Lime sent free voucher codes to users to encourage them to vote against the ban. Some voters said they would have rather had tighter regulations than an outright ban. “I don’t want scooters to do whatever they wants on pavements, but banning them is not the priority said a Parisian. “I voted for (the scooters) because I’m against the rather binary choice we’re given in this referendum,” he added. In 2021, 24 people died in

Harley Financials and Growth Prospects for 2023

by Bandit I’m not a financial advisor. I’d rather build another motorcycle than chase the stock market. But take a look at my portfolio. I have maybe 20 motorcycles, one triumph, one Indian (I had two but traded my ’46 for a ’50 bobbed Panhead). What does that tell you? I’m a Harley guy. All bikers have a special relationship with Harley-Davidson. The question always is: Does the factory respect and embrace that relationship? So, the final quarter, yearend financials surfaced, but they weren’t posted like they were in the past, you had to ask for them. However, the factory slipped into the mainstream media spotlight leading into 2023, in some troubling ways, and others indicate positive growth. Wyoming Republicans Propose Ban on Electric Car Sales

from https://www.newsmax.com A group of Republican state legislators in Wyoming have proposed a ban on electric vehicles in the state until 2035 in an attempt to protect the oil and gas industries. A group of Republican state legislators in Wyoming have proposed a ban on electric vehicles in the state until 2035 in an attempt to protect the oil and gas industries. The bill, which was introduced on Friday, states: “The proliferation of electric vehicles at the expense of gas-powered vehicles will have deleterious impacts on Wyoming’s communities and will be detrimental to Wyoming’s economy and the ability for the country to efficiently engage in commerce.” Wyoming state Sen. Jim Anderson, a Republican and one of the bill’s sponsors, told The Cowboy State Daily that the legislation came after several states moved to ban the sale of gas combustion cars, and noted that if the measure passes, “The Legislature would be saying, ‘If you don’t like our petroleum cars, well, we don’t like your electric cars.’ ” Co-sponsor Sen. Brian Boner said that the resolution would be a symbolic measure, but that it would still be meaningful. “One might even say tongue-in-cheek, but obviously it’s a very serious issue that deserves some public discussion,” Boner said. “I’m interested in making sure that the solutions that some folks want to the so-called climate crisis are actually practical in real life,” he added. “I just don’t appreciate when other states try to force technology that isn’t ready.”

Speaking about Stark Future and this partnership, Eicher Motors Ltd Managing Director, Siddhartha Lal says, “We love the vision, passion and focus of the amazing team at Stark Future. Leisure motorcycles do not easily lend themselves to EV technology at this stage, due to challenges like the battery range, packaging, weight and cost. This has resulted in stunted growth of this segment till now. Stark Future has been able to understand and harness the potential of EV technology by dramatically outperforming ICE offerings, without compromising on range, weight, packaging and cost. They have created an absolutely astounding motocross motorcycle – the Stark VARG as
