Hey, Making progress is a major motivator. I like to climb out of bed thinking the day is going to be exciting. This week I solved some issues, took my 1928 Shovelhead to Larry Settle for a look-over. We organized and shipped Hugh King’s Discovery Channel biker build-off bike to the Sturgis Museum. We attempted to get two girders from Spitfire Motorcycles. We scored a few Antiques motorcycle parts from Bobby Stark’s lot. I solved a minor issue with the Salt Torpedo and we are just a couple of weeks away from our first trial runs. I roughed out another Cantina Chapter. America’s First All-Female Motorcycle Club

Meet the ‘Motor Maids’ Motor Maids of America worked to convey a different image and create a community of women riders. Motor Maids Inc., was founded in 1941 by Linda Dugeau and Dot Robinson. It was the first all-women motorcycle club in North America. As described in a 1986 Los Angeles Times article, this club was founded to show that “women who ride motorcycles can be above reproach.” Today, the Motor Maids count more than 1,300 members across the United States and Canada, as reported by their website. The Woman Who Changed the Racing Game Jessi Combs had shown a strong inclination for cars, machines and racing from a tender age. She also had a knack for playing around with metal pieces and creating new stuffs with them. She showed special interest in creating things with metal pieces, photography, and leather craft. Jessi Combs first love was fast cars. Jessi was a trained racer as well and excelled in performance racing, stunt driving, evasive driving, and drifting. That’s the name of my accountant’s business. Shit is happening fast on most fronts and I’m going to Deadwood to relax and slip in the snow. There’s a side of me that wants to find a place in the Midwest, where I can chill and breathe in the home of the old west and the center of the Chopper World. Motorcycles have always been my home. Looks like my offer on a house in Deadwood found a dead end. Maybe it’s not meant to be. Then again, you never know. Regarding The torpedo. I welded the helmet canopy in place and painted it. I drilled the holes for the fire suppression lines to the engine compartment. Suddenly, my 1946 Indian Chief is hot property. We’ll see. And my VA effort seems to be moving forward.
