Bikernet History Lesson from the Clutch Master

Ben tells the history of the Harley Big Twin Clutch By Ben Kudon from American Prime It all started in 1903 or there abouts… The motor company went through a number of changes over the years with the way they transferred the power from the motor/transmission to the rear wheel. Now, this clutch may have been the bad ass doohickey in the day, (and while there are still bikers out there that swear this clutch is the best), it just ain’t! That old style stud and coil spring clutch had three major disadvantages that a diaphragm spring clutch doesn’t have. The more you compress the coil springs to engage better, the harder it is to pull in the clutch lever in. Lotlita and the Girls at the Strip Club

It’s all action, treachery, denial and rage By Gearhead with photos from Barry Green This is a special story. The young woman’s name is Lolita, and she is a professional dancer. This is not her dream but just for now her profession. This young woman has dreams and aspirations of a better work life for herself. We find a Lolita, Candice, Daniel, Trish or just pick a professional name in any gentlemen’s clubs across this country. A lot of these women work right here near L.A.X. Why you ask? The reason is L.A.X. is one of the last West Coast stops after leaving Las Vegas. L.A. is also big on adult entertainment like Vegas. One Year Anniversary and on the Run Again! So, I made my first Bike Night in 15 years? Yeah, I’ve covered some events since then, but the bike nights went by wayside, when I moved back to Houston to work at the St James. Figured it was okay to trade motorcycles for scantly glad ladies! The evening festivities were to celebrate the one-year gathering of the HTX Dyna Crews Bike Night beginnings. It is sponsored in part by Liberty Station Bar on Washington Avenue & Mancuso North/American Speed. Pandemic Panhead Project, Part 2

The tanks and fender are out to Deny 925, the master of patina paint, for a scallop classic paint job. In the meantime, I needed to install the Morris Mag, decide on a carb, install the front brake, finish a handful of welds, work with the guys at Bates on a clutch cable, make an old clutch lever work, hell, make the brake lever work and find a brake cable, take the springer apart and add Paughco inner springs, install the headlight and taillight, make a muffler bracket and mo’. NAMZ Throttle by Wire Tech Tip

Editor’s Note: Us old school guys need to know about this new shit. It’s not that new anymore, but what the hell, we need to know the does and don’ts and where we can find solutions. More and more I find myself helping guys with newer bikes, and I’m intrigued by the new M-8 configuration, since it slipped back in the direction of the EVO. Here’s a quote from a builder recently who said, “Evos were capable of any horsepower we could get from a Twin Cam, but the price of modifying Twin Cams is high. Now you can get double the power of an Evo with a 117-inch M-8 and the cost isn’t so high.” He recently built a 117 from a 107 and got 145 Horsepower and 133 pounds of torque. Incredible. We hope to bring you more M-8 performance techs in the near future. Thanks to the guys at NAMZ we can understand how the Throttle-by-Wire system works.–Bandit CLICK HERE TO READ THIS TECH ARTICLE ON BIKERNET Subscribe to the Cantina today – Join Now https://www.bikernet.com/pages/custom/subscription.aspx Shop for 5-Ball Racing Gear here – https://shop.bikernet.com/
