SBS launch new full-range all terrain PSI brake pad for UTV, SSV and product compatible ATVs

New full-range upgrade PSI brake pad range for UTV & SSV SBS FRICTION is as one of the largest manufacturers of brake pads, pleased to announce the launch of the full-range all terrain PSI upgrade compound for UTV and SSVs. The new purpose designed brake pad range called PSI – EVO Sinter, is made of a new state-of-the-art conductive sintered performance compound, specially developed for the all-around (wet/dry) and all-terrain (leisure/race) riding experience. The PSI – EVO Sinter range gives riders a strong initial bite to enable instant brake feeling, easy modulation and a powerful, consistent and reliable performance, even under extreme conditions throughout the brake pad lifetime. The new PSI brake pads also include NUCAP NRS technology on the back plate securing a mechanical indestructible bonding. “With the PSI – EVO Sinter compound, we want to give UTV and SSV riders the ultimate upgrade compound for both casual all-terrain use and race use. With the PSI, we have upgraded the compound performance level, so that riders are enabled a far better continuous brake feel when riding in rough terrain in both wet and dry weather conditions. With the innovative and unique enforcement of the NUCAP Retention System (NRS), we furthermore extend the bonding of the compound across the temperature span of the brake pad. Considering the tough conditions brake pads are exposed to during UTV and SSV riding, we’re taking brake performance and safety to the next level”, explains CSO at SBS, Christel Munk Pedersen. The PSI – EVO Sinter compound has been tested with Baja 1000 UTV race champion Marc Burnett but is equally applicable for off-road utility and hobby use. Following preliminary introduction in 2020 of a few applications, SBS is now introducing full-range availability by the end of Q1 2021. The new PSI – EVO Sinter […]

Four generations of a family in motorcycle sales

by Julie Perine from https://www.connect-bridgeport.com Those who were into the Suzuki GT750 might remember Leeson’s Import Motors moving into its West Main Street storefront. That was in 1970, but the history of the family-owned retailer dates back much further. It all started in the 1930s when Paul Leeson started a motorcycle shop out of his house on James Street, selling Harley Davidson and Triumph bikes. During the ‘40s, the shop was relocated to Route 50 in Adamston, operating into the ‘50s when Leeson retired. “Our grandfather loved motorcycles and it is just in our blood,” said Shawna Merrill, current sales manager. “Once you have ridden a motorcycle, it gives you such a sense of freedom. There is nothing else that makes you feel the way you do when you are riding.” In 1968, Leeson’s daughter Janice and her husband Sam reopened the shop, then called Clarksburg Suzuki Sales. Just two years later, Leeson Import Motors came full circle when it returned to Bridgeport. Four generations and many members of the Leeson family have been part of the operation which today carries a variety of power sports vehicles and accessories. “We sell Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs, Kawasaki Motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides, Kymco scooters, ATVs and side-by-sides, Arctic Cat ATVs and side-by-sides and SSR Pit bikes, off-road motorcycles, youth electric ATVs and side-by-sides,” Merrill said. “We are a full-service dealership, offering sales, parts and service.” Through the years, there have been definite trends and sought-after vehicles. The Suzuki T20 and RM370 of the late-1960s and ‘70s gave way to the Kawasaki 900 Eliminator of the ‘80s. That decade also featured Suzuki’s buy-out of the GSXRs and, of course, the ATV era as Suzuki introduced the Quad Runner 125 and 185. “In the 1990s, ATVs and motorcycles got bigger and faster,” Merrill said.

Tarus 2X2 Is the Collapsible Motorcycle That Can Go Absolutely Anywhere

by Elena Gorgan from https://www.autoevolution.com Russia, the land of all possibilities in terms of all-terrain-capable vehicles, regardless of size. Russia is also the home of what has been described as the toughest motorcycle that ever was: Tarus. Tarus first made headlines way back in 2013, when videos showing a rather crudely made prototype started making the rounds. In just a short while, the videos had reached the farthest corners of the world and, with them, the excellent news that the company behind the Tarus prototype was looking into bringing it to production. This happened only some six years later, in 2019. Tarus is now officially called Tarus 2X2 and remains the toughest-looking and apparently the virtually unstoppable motorcycle. It’s also relatively dirt cheap, at just $1,700. The bad news (because there has to be a piece of bad news, you just knew it) is that Tarus doesn’t ship outside of Russia. There is a silver lining, though, and it makes up the reason for this coverstory: according to the makers, there are plans to start shipping these 2X2 bikes to Europe and maybe even the U.S. Of course, when and if that happens, the price won’t remain as low and the makers can’t offer an estimate on how much it would increase. The Tarus is a fat-tire motorcycle that stops virtually at nothing. It’s so powerful and capable that it’s often described as a two-wheeled ATV, with the mention that even some four-wheeled ATV have had trouble making it through the terrain where this one handled itself brilliantly. The two videos at the bottom of the page should offer you an idea of just exactly it can do. The first one is a proper review by a Russian publication of the production model, while the second is of the prototype
