See The Indian Motorcycles Display and Show At The Long Beach IMS Show

Indian Motorcycle, the original American motorcycle company, today announced its plans for the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California, which runs December 7-9, 2012 at the Long Beach Convention Center. At the show, the company will make a number of significant announcements including the reveal of a limited quantity, model year 2013 Indian Motorcycle that pays tribute to the Kings Mountain era motorcycle, and an all new Indian Motorcycle display. Sturgis Looking To Update Downtown District?

  Sturgis may be best known for its annual motorcycle rally in August, but the city is hoping to entice people to visit the rest of the year. KBHB radio reports that a public meeting was held earlier this week to discuss how to redesign Sturgis' downtown district. The Downtown Revitalization Committee has come up with four different pilot projects. The projects include an updated motorcycle museum, upgrades to aged downtown buildings, a downtown plaza and a splashpark. Four Front Design is a design company that is leading the revitalization effort. Eirik Heikes with Four Front Designs says the motorcycle museum has the potential to be the cornerstone of a vibrant downtown district since Sturgis is known for motorcycles.

NAS Jax holds first all-female motorcycle course

NAS Jacksonville held their first all-female Motorcycle Basic Rider Course Nov. 18-19 with five participants learning the ins and outs of how to ride a motorcycle safely. The course was comprised of classroom work and range exercises to test their knowledge both mentally and physically.  “We are teaching them the basics of learning to ride a motorcycle including gear shifting, braking, maneuvering skills, how to avoid hazards and how to have confidence on a bike. Most of participants out here have been riding on the back of a motorcycle and have decided they want to try it on their own,” said Cape Fox Professional Services Motorcycle Instructor Kristen Montejo, as she taught a series of range exercises to the participants. ...

Bonhams lines up championship caliber motorcycles

  Two single-owner collections will headline the motorcycle section of the Bonhams sale at the Grand Palais in Paris in early February. The Garelli Grand Prix Collection comprises some two-dozen historic racing motorcycles from the celebrated Italian manufacturer, many from the factory’s 1980s heyday, and a selection from its prewar days. All the machines, which were housed by their current owner in a private chapel, will be sold at no reserve.
