Polaris Gets Involved With Tornado Relief

Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced the company is donating 10 military, off-road vehicles with a combination of Run-Flat and Non-Pneumatic Tires (NPT), to enhance The Salvation Army’s ability to transport food, water and other critical supplies to survivors, in Moore, Okla. The units will be delivered from Polaris’ Osceola, Wis. plant, free of charge, thanks to a generous donation from Bay and Bay Transport and Overbye Trucking. “With debris on the ground from thousands of destroyed homes, these vehicles will allow us to serve in places our mobile kitchens cannot,” said Lt. Triumph Motorcycles India launch confirmed for Q3 2013

Motorcycle awareness gets attention on Capitol Hill

 The importance of drivers watching for motorcycles, and motorcyclists riding safely, got some much-needed attention in Washington, D.C., on May 22.   U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin (R-Ark.), co-chairman of the Congressional Motorcycle Caucus, made a statement for the record noting May is Motorcycle Awareness Month and stressed the importance of motorcycle safety.   "Drivers' failure to see motorcycles is one of the leading causes of motorcycle crashes, and the prevalence of distracted and inattentive driving poses a significant threat to motorcycle riders," Griffin said.   "I urge vehicle drivers to check mirrors and blind spots and actively look for motorcycles, especially at intersections," he said.
