On July 16th, Will Barclay broke a world record by approx 6 and ½ hours, riding a motorcycle from Prudhoe Bay Alaska to Key West Florida.  He traversed over 5,000 miles in 80 hours on “REDTAIL” his famous Harley Davidson Street Glide. It was more than 60 years ago, but Harry Hulme still remembers the nervous excitement he felt before taking part in his first motorcycle race. The 82-year-old retired engineer raced at Alton Towers for two seasons in the early 1950s. "I can still remember my first race now," says Harry, from Manor Court, Walton, near Stone.
