Trendy Melrose LA Storefront Partnership

RSD meets P16 Last night we got the call. “Blaze to Melrose the gang is waiting,” Snake issued the announcement and hung up. We peeled. Roland, who owns a terrific store front in Westminster, California, needed serious foot traffic to test his apparel offerings. He immediately recognized the vintage connection, the quality of Neevo’s workmanship, the style, panache, and hard work ethic. He offered to share the space and help refurbish the old classic storefront. CLICK here…

Bikernet Headquarter’s Wings

The Headquarters Receives its First Set of Wings, by Bandit. I recently spoke to an attorney, Hamster friend who explained how I could paint a mural on the side of the building and it fell under the first amendment. I scratched my beard and make a vast Bikernet editorial decision. I was going to create an art piece for the front of the building and what could be better than a winged-wheel, the classic of classics motorcycle art object. CLICK here to read…..

Harley-Davidson Recall Update

Harley-Davidson has issued a voluntary recall for 2014 Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles, claiming a potential problem in the front brake line. The recall includes a total of 66,421 motorcycles that were manufactured between July 1, 2013, and May 7, 2014. Roger Roeszler, technical research and support manager of Harley-Davidson, wrote to the NHTSA on June 11 that the motorcycles affected in the recall “may have been assembled with a front brake line in a position where it could become pinched between the fuel tank and the frame.” The problem — if left undetected — could result in a front wheel lock-up. Harley initiated the recall to correct the problem. Click below to find out if your bike is affected by this recall.

Mustang To Launch Indian Seat Program In Sturgis

Mustang Seats LLC chose Sturgis to present their new Vintage Wide Touring seats for the 2014 Indian Chief/Chieftain motorcycles. Fans of the new Indians can get their first look at these saddles at the Mustang display at the J&P Cycles Store on Lazelle during the Sturgis Rally. “We have always had an affinity for Indian motorcycles,” notes Mustang’s Marketing Director Marilyn Simmons. “The original Indian factory in Springfield is just 17 miles away from Mustang’s historic factory in Three Rivers, Massachusetts. The monumental effort to bring the Indian brand back is not lost on us, so our R&D team took extra care in creating our replacement seats for the Indian Chief.” Riders in Sturgis will be among the first in the nation to sample the two versions of Mustang’s popular Vintage Wide Touring style seat configured to match the all-new Indians. Although both styles offer 16.5″ solo seats that position the rider 1.5″ back from stock, the key difference is cosmetic. “We have seen a real difference in the type of seat Indian owners want… some prefer the studs, conchos and decorative braid of our Studded Wide Touring seat, while others are the polar opposite, preferring the Vintage Wide Touring seat without any bells, whistles or conchos.” Regardless of the level of trim, both versions start with Mustang’s proprietary marine-grade fiberglass baseplate and controlled-density foam. “No matter how much foam you layer on, the key to comfort is to start with a proper base,” says Simmons. Mustang’s combination makes for ample support and all-day riding comfort. Passenger comfort wasn’t forgotten either. Matching 13″ passenger seats get the controlled-density foam for ample support and all-day riding comfort, but the biggest deal is the option of a built-in passenger backrest (sold separately) that eliminates the need for a sissy bar pad. “We did not want to

Norton In Hiring Mode In Britain Now

According to the Leicester Mercury, hundreds of youngsters are to be trained to build motorcycles in the grounds of a historic country house for Norton Motorcycles. The company is looking to recruit 40 apprentices by September, when the three-year course will begin. It eventually plans to take in 100 trainees a year. The creation of the British Motorcycle Manufacturing Academy is part of Norton owner Stuart Garner’s dream of producing a motorcycle that is totally British made. At the moment, 83 per cent of parts for his bikes are made in England. “We want to make a 100 per cent British-made motorcycle,” he said. “But this is hard to do because there’s no way of buying some of the parts in the UK. We don’t have any suspension or brake manufacturing here. We have to get them from the Far East. Read more.
