THE GRINNALL RT3 TRIKE Based on the Triumph Rocket III

The Grinnall ‘R3T’ is undoubtedly unique in the trike market. Based on Triumph’s brilliant and much-acclaimed, shaft driven Rocket 3, the R3T performs like no other trike. And its styling, by Steve Everitt Automobile Designs Ltd, so compliments the original lines that it might have been penned at Triumph’s own design studios in Leicestershire. – See more at: http://www.bikernettrikes.com/pages/THE_GRINNALL_RT3_TRIKE.aspx#sthash.ncNbpouD.dpuf READ FULL STORY

Polaris Industries Challenges Polaris Dealers to ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Today, Polaris Industries Inc.’s Chairman and CEO, Scott Wine, completed the Ice Bucket Challenge, joining in the viral campaign to raise awareness and funds for ALS. After accepting the challenge from Dan Ariens, President and CEO of Ariens, Wine in turn nominated Bahram Akradi, Founder and CEO of Lifetime Fitness, Michael Guyette, President and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield MN, and the entire Polaris dealer network. Wine noted in his video that if 100 Polaris dealers accept the challenge, Polaris will donate an additional $10,000 towards ALS research. “Polaris has a long history of giving back and is proud to support this effort,” said Wine. “We encourage our strong network of dealers to accept the nomination or donate to an ALS charity.” Polaris has been involved with the Black Woods Blizzard Tour, a snowmobile ride to fight ALS, since its inception 15 years ago. Since then, Polaris employees have raised more than $900,000 for the cause and are hoping to hit the $1 million mark in 2015. Motus Awaits EPA Certifications, Launches Website, Goes Land Speed Racing

Motus Motorcycles says it has successfully completed durability and emissions testing on its MST series of American sportbikes and has submitted the results to EPA/CARB. According to the manufacturer, the independent testing demonstrates impressive performance and low tailpipe emissions. Motus will begin production of MST and MSTR motorcycles once the test results are certified by the governing bodies. “It is a long and complex process, but we’re happy with the results of the tailpipe emissions and fuel permeation tests for the MST series,” said Motus Powertrain Manager, Jim Ray. “We will always work to improve, but at just 43% of EPA’s standards for hydrocarbons and NOx emissions and just 23% of the carbon monoxide standards, we think it’s a good starting point.” “The Baby Block is under-stressed and has a great engine management system,” said Design Director Brian Case, “and we are glad to have the lab testing behind us so we can prepare for production as we await certification.” Motus will offer press and public demo rides once the MST’s are certified “street legal” by the governing bodies. Meanwhile, Motus has launched a new website at motusmotorcycles.com and is registered to compete at the Bonneville Speed Trials in Utah August 23-28. The 1650cc Motus MV4 Baby Block® powers America’s only line of sport touring motorcycles, including the MST and more premium MSTR. Making up to 180 horsepower and 126 ft lbs of torque, the Baby Block is also available for other applications that could benefit from a light, compact engine. After revealing early concepts motorcycles in 2011, Motus has since extensively developed the motorcycles to excel in performance, comfort and range. Motus motorcycles will be sold through a dealer network stretching from Seattle to Miami.

The Road to Paloma Movie Bike (Interview with Jason Momoa)

“I’ve had that bike since I was nineteen, it’s the first thing I ever bought.” ~Jason Momoa I recently had a chance to sit down with Jason Momoa (director, co-writer, lead actor of “ Road to Paloma”) for a couple minutes and ask him about his inspiration for the story and get some specifics on the cool custom bike he rode in the film. Zack Coffman: What was the inspiration for the film? How did it come together? Jason Momoa: I wanted to make a road movie for a long time, but it isn’t easy. You need to meander in the film, but it has to have a story or you’re just jacking off, you know? I love Five Easy Pieces, Jack Kerouac [On the Road], and Easy Rider of course, but it’s kind of for a different generation. Co-writer and co-star Robert [Homer Mollohan] and I are both into bikes and he told me about the injustices happening on the reservations and it opened up a whole world. I couldn’t believe all this was happening in our country. That gave my character some purpose. We wanted to make a road movie about a man saying goodbye to his life. CLICK to read…..

Victory Magnum

Victory’s boldest bike to ever roll off the line! Baggers are hot! Anyone following the motorcycle scene can’t have missed this fact. HEAVY DUTY magazine has been running tours to Sturgis for our readers since 1997 and in that time we have seen a lot of changes in the industry. Choppers dominated for a number of years but have now almost vanished from the scene. It’s baggers, baggers and more baggers. It seems as if ground up custom bike building has shrunk to a mere shadow of its former prominence and the hot thing is for people to buy stock bikes and customize them, especially baggers. Well Victory Motorcycles have seen this trend growing and have thrown their hat into the ring with the new Magnum, describing it as our boldest bike to ever roll off the line. CLICK to read….
