KlockWerks' Karlee Cobb Customizes A ’15 Indian Scout

Following the Sturgis reveal of the new 2015 Indian Scout model, Indian Motorcycle chose a select few shops to customize a Scout. Klock Werks graciously accepted the opportunity, and decided the design lead of the project should fall to their youngest team member – Karlee Cobb. “At just 14 years old in 2008, Karlee became the youngest person to set a land speed record at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats”, says Klock Werks owner Brian Klock. “That same year she, her Mom and sister became the first Mother-Daughter-Daughter trio in land speed racing history to hold records at the same time and were named to a list of the 100 most influential women in land speed racing history. Karlee has grown accustomed to taking on challenges at a young age, and has gained a great eye for design through her years working at our family shop. We felt giving her the design lead on the customizing of this 2015 Indian Scout project would be a natural fit.” “My goal was to design something that looks completely customized, but yet is simple enough that someone could do something similar to their own Scout in their garage,” says Cobb of her project she calls “Outrider”. “I was really blown away by the power and quality of the production Scout, so maintaining the ride-ability of the bike was really important to me. I decided to go for the old-skool bobber look, and I think it turned out great! I’ve got a great team of friends and family in and around Klock Werks, and want to thank Indian Motorcycle for the chance to be one of the first to customize this historic bike!” “Outrider” will be on display at the New York Progressive International Motorcycle Show at the Javits Center, December 12-14. Mad Max Fury Road — The World Goes Mad

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary “Mad Max” franchise, comes “Mad Max: Fury Road,” a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows. Red Bull is supposed to give you wings… This time, it give us sheer terror. Watch this fearless French trails rider do his thing on a roller coaster. It’s an amusement mash-up of epic proportions – you take French legend of moto trials riding Julien Dupont and introduce him and his bike to one of the world’s most terrifying and yet prestigious wooden roller coasters, the Montaña Rusa at La Feria de Chapultepec amusement park in Mexico City. The result is Red Bull Roller Coaster. The roller coaster is a full 1.2km long, and as well as working his way along its full length, Dupont also had to use skill and power to reach up to 33m off the ground on a structure designed for a powerless train assisted only by gravity. Many people are sick after going on roller coasters and then feel better, but for Dupont it was his own thrill ride itself that was “sick”. “Now I feel better, for sure,” said an elated Dupont afterwards. “This morning, I was very nervous because I’m not used to riding this kind of stuff. It was the sickest ride ever!” Nerves didn’t prevent the 34-year-old from performing two backflips on the towering structure, a landmark in the Mexican capital for almost 50 years and at one time the world’s tallest roller coaster. “This is why I love Mexico, because this is the place where the impossible becomes possible,” added Dupont, whose previous trip to Mexico City brought you Red Bull Traffic Jam, his unique trip on a trials bike through the capital’s rush-hour queues. “There’s no place in the world where I could do the same.”
