Crusher Maverick 2.5˝ Slip-On Mufflers

Maverick 2.5″ Slip-Ons are now available to intensify the classic tone of your Harley-Davidson Dyna, Softail or Sportster. These stylish slip-ons are made by Crusher, the Performance Division of Küryakyn. Unlike most slip-ons for cruisers, the latest addition to Crusher’s flagship Maverick series of performance exhaust products preserves a lean, smooth-flowing appearance from headers through the mufflers for an amazingly clean transition that enhances the traditional staggered-dual exhaust look. The CNC-machined billet aluminum end caps with high-temp matte black ceramic coating, and brushed stainless steel banding with embossed Crusher logo round out the distinct, aggressive design. Made is the USA, Maverick 2.5˝ Slip-Ons are available in premium high-temp matte black ceramic-coated or chrome-plated steel. The mufflers and heat shields will not succumb to discoloration or bluing, the manufacturer says. Maintenance-free, high-flow louvered core baffles help generate a unique, full-bodied exhaust note at wide-open throttle, while offering lower decibel levels at cruising speeds. The cutting-edge styling, potent growl and noticeable jump in performance without intake or header upgrades create an great package at a reasonable price. Chrome or matte black ceramic Maverick 2.5˝ Slip-Ons are available for ’91-’15 Dynas (except FLD and FXDL), most ’07-’15 Softails*, and all ’04-’15 Sportster models. Crowd Funding Campaign Is On For New Biker Film

Why We Ride Films, the production team behind the critically acclaimed motorcycle movie Why We Ride, is launching a Kickstarter campaign to help fund its new film I Am Sturgis.   “We’ve received thousands of letters from fans telling us that after seeing Why We Ride they decided to ‘throw their leg over two-wheels’ and become motorcyclists,” says James Walker, producer of Why We Ride. “We cannot stop with just one movie. This is now a movement, and we would love to have the community help us continue telling these inspiring stories about our motorcycle culture.” The impetus for the new movie stems partly from this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally being the 75th Anniversary of that motorcycling institution. In recent years, the Sturgis rally has drawn half a million participants, but attendance estimates for this year’s anniversary rally exceed one million riders. There may never be a better time to capture the passion, dedication and camaraderie of the motorcycling community, and there certainly is no better place than the iconic Sturgis gathering. When making Why We Ride, Sturgis was the first filming location, and it had an immediate emotional effect on the filmmakers. “There is a spirit there that enters you and grabs your heart,” says Bryan H. Carroll, producer/director. “The beauty of the Black Hills is God given. You put your hand on a boulder and you feel this energy; you can feel it in the air. It’s easy to understand why American Indians hold this place sacred.” “Sturgis is not just a place–it’s who we are,” continues Carroll. “When you say, ‘I am an American,’ it’s not about your address or even where you were born. It’s in your DNA, your spirit. It’s why people from all over the world have been coming to this country for the

2015 Mustang Catalog Available in Both Print And Digital Formats

The iconic “Pegasus” winged horse continues to fly to new heights in 2015 as Mustang Motorcycle Products, LLC celebrates its 35th anniversary. New products and a new look commemorating this milestone kick off a yearlong celebration from the seat manufacturer. Despite the new look, expect Mustang’s core values of quality, comfort and customer satisfaction to continue! Merging these values with high-tech delivery, Mustang has made digital editions of both its Metric and American V-Twin catalogs available. “We have traditionally launched our catalogs in Daytona as part of the Bike Week festivities, but we realize not everyone can escape to Florida in the spring,” says Mustang’s Business Development Director Marilyn Simmons. “So this year we are making the catalogs available in their entirety online as well as the printed versions.” Catalogs are available at Mustang’s big rig at most major rallies or you can request a free copy to be mailed to you from the website. For instant gratification, virtual viewing is available here. “Speaking of the catalogs and the associated aviation imagery, we owe a salute to the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California, for hosting our catalog shoot,” adds Simmons. “They have one of the largest collections of flying warbirds in existence and are motorcycle riders themselves. Director Jerry Wilkins even does the annual “Run For The Wall” ride from Chino to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC on his Harley every year.” In addition to the two new catalogs being launched, Mustang’s social media campaign has also taken off. The first of the “5-For-35” seats giveaway on Mustang’s Facebook page was presented in conjunction with Daytona Bike Week. Four more free seats will land in lucky winners’ hands later this season (the Laughlin River Run is next up). More details can be found here. Advertisement

Sturgis Bah Humbug: Every Party Has A Pooper

Todd Epp is tired of the Sturgis Rally, it would seem. He’s calling to put an end to ‘the Motorcycle Rally Debauchery’ in his Op-Ed article published on the KSOO web page. Here’s a snippet of what Todd has to say: OK Sturgis, you get one more big party for the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis Rally and Races this summer, then that’s it. You’ve finally gone too far. You’ve sold your soul and have whore-mongered your city park to the highest bidders. Never mind that the event flies in the face of the family values that South Dakotans say they love. Mostly naked women on backs of motorcycles driven by men you wouldn’t otherwise invite into your home or business. Campground antics that aren’t repeatable here on a family website. Motorcycle gangs. Drugs. Drunken driving. Fatal accidents. Read more here. You’re welcome to leave your feedback on that page too.

From Old-School To Industrial, EMD Tackles All Harley-Davidson Applications

Esteves Motorcycle Design (EMD) now offers primary covers for ’07-’14 Harley-Davidson touring bikes in two radically different flavors. Responding to current demand for old-school themes, the Snatch is a cast aluminum primary cover featuring a raised ribbed design. The Snatch strives to capture and celebrate the soul and ‘analog’ authenticity of those elusive vintage aftermarket pieces that sometimes surface at swap meets. Experimenting with a more industrial and technical look, the Jay Dee primary cover emulates the appearance of an open primary belt drive. The cast aluminum cover is available in black cut finish, featuring a powder coated base and machined highlights. Dealer enquiries welcome at steelmedia@yahoo.com; 818-268-3789. Back-to-Back Wins And New Lap Record For EBR's Cory West

Erik Buell Racing employee Cory West had a perfect showing at Zhuhai International Circuit in southern China, taking back-to-back wins in two races and setting a new lap record along the way. The event, which took place March 21-22, was the opening round of China’s Pan Delta Superbike Series’ 2015 season. Riding an EBR 1190RS for the Splitlath Motorsport team, West had never seen nor experienced the Zhuhai International Circuit before he arrived in China the Wednesday before the race. He quickly learned the course, however, qualifying in pole position for the first main event on Saturday afternoon. West’s qualifying time of 1:35.859 Was the first time a Superbike lapped the circuit in under 1:36. West battled China’s Li Zheng Peng riding a factory Yamaha R1 in both races. The pair traded the lead until West was able to ride deep into the corners and out-accelerate his rival and hold Li off as the two riders raced through lapped traffic. “Getting to go race in China for the Splitlath team and represent the EBR brand was an amazing experience,” said West. “ To finish the weekend out by setting a new track record, qualifying on pole position, and winning both races on the first attempt was icing on the cake! Big thanks to everyone that made it possible and I can’t wait to come back and build on our championship points lead.” West and the Splitlath EBR team now hold the lead in the Championship points race for the Pan Delta Superbike Series. The next round, along with much higher temperatures, is sure to bring renewed pressure from competitors as they focus their efforts on catching Cory West. More info here.
