North Dakota tourism officials are expanding a program that allows motorcycle riders to earn a patch after traveling five of the state’s scenic byways and backways. Officials are making it easier for riders to earn a patch by adding new routes and state parks to the state’s Scenic ByRider Program. New routes include the loop ride within the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, the Enchanted Highway north of Regent and the highways circling Devils Lake, including Grahams Island State Park. Riders can also visit North Dakota’s 12 other state parks. Officials say the goal is to give people more opportunities to reach the five-location goal at a leisurely pace.

Victory riders will carve roads to scenic peaks, valleys, and vistas of Colorado during the 2015 American Victory Rally (AVR) in Colorado Springs June 25-28. Registration for the event can be found here. The new location was chosen so riders can enjoy the power and performance of their motorcycles alongside other Victory owners as they ride on some of the world’s most scenic roads. “For Victory owners, it’s all about the ride, and there is endless spectacular riding in Colorado, where Victory models really can shine” said Rod Krois, General Manager for Victory Motorcycles. “The AVR will include endless riding opportunities, time spent with fellow Victory owners from around the world, and great activities that only Victory can offer.” Activities on the rally schedule will include: thrilling high-performance riding demonstrations by the Victory Stunt Team; an appearance by the Victory Racing team of NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle drag racers Matt and Angie Smith; vendor displays featuring Victory accessories and merchandise; great riding; giveaways exclusively for Victory owners, and more. Colby Higgins’ Black Pearl is one helluva crazy contraption: a steam-powered motorcycle. It looks like a locomotive and even sounds like one too. It may not blast through the countryside as fast as a train though. Higgins’ motorcycle is said to read speed upward of 5mph. Folks making plans to attend the Sturgis Rally’s 75th anniversary celebration have been eagerly awaiting word of more world-class Buffalo Chip entertainment, with just 105 days until the first note reverberates through the amphitheater at the world’s largest motorcycle and music festival. Today these fans can add two more superstar rock bands to their calendars as the Sturgis Buffalo Chip® has added Shinedown and Social Distortion to its ever-expanding 2015 roster. The American rockabilly punk band has been a consistent favorite of rockers for nearly four decades and carries a deep cult following among “Gen X-ers.” Hits like “Ball and Chain” and “Story of my Life” will bring Chip fans the hard-hitting rock they have been asking for, as Social Distortion is consistently on the Chip’s list of most requested performers. “This year is going to be the best party yet,” said Rod Woodruff, president of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “We continue to add the best rock bands in the world to the main stage schedule, and we aren’t done yet. Today, we heard from our friends at Victory Motorcycles. They told us that Victiry and Roland Sands Designs have just committed to a program dubbed “Project 156”. According to sources at Victory Motorcycles, more information will become available by May 28th. A quick look at the included, not-so-cryptic art speaks volume, we think. It looks to us like Victory and Roland Sands are fixin’ to take on Pikes Peak with fire-breathing American V-twin. We look forward to filling you in on this project as soon as we find out more.
