Rocky Low and One Man’s Junk

Cook’s corner is a pretty amazing place. I can’t think of another biker bar that’s been a riders retreat in the Southern California hills for longer – over 60 years.  I generally go to Cook’s when testing brand new press bikes because I always find a story. I saw this really cool Rat Trike and I met its owner, Rocky Low.  If you frequent Cook’s, you probably know Rocky.  Sitting there having a beer, he told me that Cook’s is where he celebrated his 1st birthday.  That caught me off guard because I didn’t see kids in Southern California 63 years ago as barflies, and Cook’s didn’t really seem like a Chucky Cheese kinda hangout. Scooter Tramp Scotty’s Ride Takes Him To Eden

It was a momentary lull in this never ending journey of campsites, parties, changing scenery, sights, people, adventure, and strange circumstance. A time of good friends, tranquility, and easy living. And so, to my delight, did the wintertime adventures of Eden (at the southern tip of Florida) and the bond that had formed between Steve, Tom, and myself continue… None who lived within the two houses at Eden had jobs at this time and mornings were spent at the coffee pot and breakfast table. Sometimes we chattered on into the afternoon. But a home and property do require chores and it was Tom who helped Steve empty the green swimming pool that I’d deemed “mosquito swamp”. Keep reading!
