The INDIAN Restoration Saga Continues

It was late August 2013, and I had nothing to do that Saturday, so I took a look on the internet for motorcycle events that day. I discovered a “Big Bad Motorcycle Show” at the NW Harley dealership in Lacey, Washington. I decided to ride my recently painted 1946 Chief (jade green and crème) just to see what was going on. I arrived at 12:00 noon sharp, and as I pulled in to the parking lot a tattooed cutie came running up to me. She pleaded with me to enter the Chief in the show. Keep reading.

I arrived at 12:00 noon sharp, and as I pulled in to the parking lot a tattooed cutie came running up to me. She pleaded with me to enter the Chief in the show. I asked if the show wasn’t just for Harleys and she said, “Oh no.” So, I paid my $20.00 fee (discounted $10.00 because I’m a military retiree) and entered the Chief in the “Vintage/Antique” class. There were about 150 bikes in the show and I was the only Indian. As I pulled into my class area I was immediately approached by numerous curious participants who had never seen a real live Indian actually being ridden. There were several other bikes in my class (all old Harleys) but nothing like the Chief. – See more here.

Hines Wins NHRA Four-Wide Nationals In Charlotte

Andrew Hines scorched the Pro Stock Motorcycle final to win the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals presented by Lowes Foods at zMAX Dragway. Competing in a unique four-wide format aboard a Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle, Hines finished second in two elimination rounds to advance to the final and won the event for the third consecutive year while claiming his first win of the 2016 season. “I think the Four-Wide is the only event where you can lose a round and still win,” said Hines, the defending NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. “We put a fresh motor in my V-Rod on Saturday, and I had a strong-running motorcycle today. The Screamin’ Eagle team won the first two races this year, so we are off to a great start. We are really happy with our performance and the way the bikes are responding to tuning.” Hines qualified fourth for the event with a best run of 6.837 seconds. Hines won the final with an outstanding reaction time of 0.002 seconds to launch his motorcycle on a 6.844-second run and a top speed of 195.42 miles per hour. The win this weekend was the 43rd career final-round victory for Hines and the fifth in his last six races at zMax Dragway. Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec, the Pro Stock Motorcycle points leader, also advanced to the Four-Wide final and finished second to Hines. Get The Stretched Look At A Fraction Of The Cost with Klock Werks

A low-profile dash will do a lot to improve the look of your stock tank. Upgrade your tank’s console with a Klock Werks Curvaceous Kustom Metal Dash. Klock Werks makes a chrome ignition switch cover that compliments the dash to provide a clean, stretched look, for a fraction of the cost. The Curvaceous Kustom Metal Dash by Klock Werks is made in the USA from 16-gauge stamped steel that is laser cut and e-coated to prevent rust and corrosion. The dash is available in a variety of lengths to accommodate different seat styles- two lengths (short and long) for ‘08 and newer baggers (08+ FLHT, FLTR, FLHX and HD FL Trike Models), and in three lengths (short, long, and extended) for ‘97–’07 FLHT, FLTR, FLHX. LAWS, ACTION AND BAD JOKES RETURN TO THE BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for April 21st, 2016

Hey, About Freedom. We seem to live in a society admonishing Freedom as a thing of the past. I had a conversation with Dennis Manning. The EPA told him point blank that they are controlling everything that rolls, and ultimately custom motorcycles had to be apart of the mix. So, why isn’t it the other way around? Why don’t government agencies have a mandate to find freedom, not control? I had a notion. The EPA was started as an advisory group. So, let’s start a freedom advisory group. Then someday the president will wake up and say, “Freedom works, it’s what keeps humanity breathing, celebrating, being innovative, and strong.” They will then give us billions to mandate that government agencies relinquish control and return freedom to the public. Amazing! Weekly the Bikernet Supreme and Audacious Weekly News is sponsored in part by Cycle Source Magazine, Iron Trader and Choppertown. – Read the rest here. It’s Hot with News from the MRF, JIMS, MetalSport, SmokeOut, Feds, Buckleguy, Quail, and even some Bad Jokes.
