Another Tree-Hugging Electric Motorcycle? Think Again!

Hey, here’s a crazy-looking bike. It looks pretty gnarly; a bit like a V-Rod and Ducati Diavel mashup. This one is electric and it’s a concept bike from a group of Swiss bike builders and engineers. It’s called the Zvexx and it comes with its own mission statement from its makers: With this bike, we demonstrate that an electric drive can look fierce and behave like a beast. This is not a project in user-friendly cuteness but a fusion of raw, biker appeal and unbridled electric force. Zvexx is not about being cute, it’s a badass bike with brutal acceleration that was designed to look great and it attracts attention from every direction! Bystanders look on in stunned disbelief. Supercars all but disappear in the presence of a Zvexx. But looks are not enough. When it comes to performance, Zvexx delivers a brutal 1200 N-m of torque right off the bat! Those who have enjoyed the experience of high performance electrical vehicles know that they deliver maximum torque from zero rpm without any gear shifts or clutch. A radical and exciting riding experience like no other; pure acceleration! Zero vibration, no noise, just an unrelenting surge and nothing else. Few vehicles can rival the sensation. But for now, if you like it, you’ll have to build one yourself! This is the only fully registered bike like this. It is not an artist’s 3D rendering like we see too often, or a futuristic concept bike built for auto shows, never seeing the open road. Zvexx is a real bike, with real mileage on it. In fact, you might spot it on the road if you live in the Lake Geneva region in Switzerland. Just to get things straight, we have nothing against the visceral throb of a petrol engine bike,

Bikernet Tech Install — BAKER’S DD6 Transmission

Today I’m gonna talk about the Baker 6 speed transmission gear set I recently installed into my old evo bagger. Since the quality of different aftermarket six speed manufacturers has already been covered quite completely in various other articles, I’m not going to get into that here. Instead I’ll try to answer those questions that I, and probably most of you who want one of these things, would like answers to. And I intend to do it using simple language rather than complex gear-head jargon. Continue reading.

Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Celebrates Success

From the motorcycles to the industry’s pioneers and innovators, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame recognizes every aspect of what makes motorcycling great. The Museum was chartered in 2001 to recognize individuals or groups who have made a long term positive impact on the motorcycle community, and plans call for improvements that will make it possible to create world-class exhibits. However this progress would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of the board of directors, the local community and most importantly the sponsors.. “It was time to Honor the Ride and Build the Legacy,” says Executive Director Myrick Robbins. “The mission for the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum remains unchanged, however the means to achieving its lofty goals are certainly advancing courtesy of our sponsors and supporters of the Museum.” A record number of visitors over the course of 2016 and a complete sell-out of the annual Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremonies breakfast highlighted a record year for the Sturgis landmark. The support of the community and the amazing efforts of Rod Woodruff, founder and President of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, will make it possible for the Museum to expand on its mission to honor those who have made a positive and significant impact on the sport and lifestyle,” says Robbins. This year alone the Chip donated $18,356 toward expansion, part of a total $228,000 contributed over the past nine years to help build a world-class Museum in Sturgis showcasing motorcycling’s history. Night At Museum1 Also making a major contribution to the Museum was Russ Brown Motorcycle Accident & Injury Attorneys. The original attorneys who ride contributed $2,500. “We know the challenges, danger and bias that riders face on the road as we were riders long before we became lawyers,” says managing partner Chuck Koro. “We are proud

Harley-Davidson Power Carries Krawiec To Nhra Countdown Lead With Pro Stock Motorcycle Win In Dallas

Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec stormed to the lead in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship standings with a big win in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA AAA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. Racing a competition Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle, Krawiec scored a hole-shot victory in the final round to win his second-consecutive Countdown event and take a 17-point lead with two rounds left in the championship battle. “Once again Harley-Davidson power carried the day, and I had good lights in every round,” said Krawiec, who now has five wins in seven final-round appearances for the season. “With two wins in a row, we’ve gained some momentum but we are by no means ready to run away with this championship. This is still a four-way dog fight, and, with two races left, what’s going to matter are the bonus points. You could win this by a point or two.” Krawiec qualified third for Sunday eliminations with a best run of 6.821 seconds. His Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate, Andrew Hines, qualified second at 6.811 seconds. Hines, the defending Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, lost in the second round on Sunday. Krawiec, who arrived in Dallas trailing Hines by 38 points, took the Countdown lead for the first time this season with the 36th Pro Stock Motorcycle win of his career. Hines and Krawiec race on competition motorcycles inspired by the unrelenting performance and sleek street style of the Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle, a motorcycle powered by a liquid-cooled 60° V-twin engine ready to breathe a little fire onto the street and available now at authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships. After four of six events in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship, only 60 points separate the top four riders. Krawiec leads the class with
