SUPER BOWL SUNDAY POST for February 4, 2018

By | General Posts

Hey,

It’s that day. Guys are setting up at the David Mann Chopper Fest. Some of the brothers rode to Ventura to party in the streets last night.

Someone showed me a bag of magic mushrooms and I ran the opposite direction. Some of us are trying to get out to the tattoo exhibit at the Natural History Museum this week.

I’m going to roll over to Zach and Susy’s for a Super Bowl party in Long Beach. Zack always has new projects to review either motorcycle or around his building.

I started to apply clay to my charity sculpture and it didn’t go well. The clay shrinks as it dries, and separates from the metal. I need to investigate.

Damn, this is going to be an exciting year.

Let’s hit the news.

THE PERPLEXING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for February 1, 2018

By | General Posts

Hey,

This will be a week of reflection and panic over Harley’s Quarterly Report, the Kansas Plant shutdown and the State of the Union Speech.

Two things at play here. One is the nature of our media now, since everything is in real-time and negativity seems to be the order of the day. So, most reports are doom and gloom. That’s not the case.

The other notion is the fact that everything changes all the time. Companies are forced to navigate changing times, customers, and markets constantly. It’s not a big deal, but it’s the nature of the beast.

Bikers are a different breed. We’re going to have fun whether we have money or not. We’re going to build cool shit, whether we have parts or not. And we’re going to ride free whether they like it or not.

So it was that time of year again. Time for the SmokeOut to roll into Rockingham, NC. Brought to us by all of their great sponsors including LowBrow Customs and Bikernet.com.

This year I rode my rigid frame, 4-speed kick start only, jockey shift Evo. From where I live it is about 80 miles one way. I had been hearing rumors that I was too old for that bike with only kick start. I was too old to take the bumps on the black top? Well I had to prove it to myself that I could still handle the rough spots and enjoy the ride. Of course, I still had it and I did!

Man-Made Climate Change-Settled

By | General Posts

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is settled science, proclaim the predictors of weather doomsday. Settled Science? Science evolves continuously and can never be settled, unless, of course, the ‘settled’ subject is dogma, not science. Is it just a ‘my way or the highway’ attempt by vested interests to close discussion on their terms?

Consider the term “peer reviewed”. Science evolves through the contribution of new ideas which are published so that their peers (other scientists) can review, validate, contribute, or argue with them. If we had accepted Niels Bohr’s version of the atom as settled science, there would have been no subatomic particles discovered and nuclear fission might not have ever been attempted, which would be perfectly okay with the modern day flat-earthers.

In 1990, we find the United Nations’ formation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) chartered to remedy carbon dioxide induced global warming without ever pausing to examine the plausibility of the theory.

A key feature of this plan is a carbon tax to be levied on developed economies with proceeds going to less developed countries (read members of the UN general assembly). The goal is to provide incentives to restrict fossil fuel development and invest (read sink money) in wind farms and solar panels with much higher costs per energy unit produced.

It also incentivizes participating governments to create grant funds for environmental lobby groups who make political contributions to the politicians responsible for creating those funds.

THE UNIFIED SUNDAY POST for January 28, 2018

By | General Posts

Hey,

I’m confused today, how can we unify the country and make progress down the right path. Tough one.

Does this whacky planet need conflict to fuel the fires and if we are not attacking Facism or Communism we attack each other.

I’m talking in big circles. We were once just a bunch of bikers having a good time, building wild shit, riding, chasing broads and drinking whiskey. We need to be able to get back to that.

Autonomous Bikernet Weekly News for January 25th, 2018

Hey,

I told you life was nuts. I watched a senate hearing last night on C-span about regulation and autonomous vehicles. What an oxymoron. These guys were complaining about regulation ahead of technology, which is sort of impossible. How can you regulate something that hasn’t been developed? They’ll find a way.

So, they want to be free to create anything that will save you and prevent you from driving your own vehicle, but you can bet you will be regulated to death in order to save lives. So, it’s okay to torture the public forever as long as they don’t see a doctor and live longer. What the fuck?

Save the planet and save the people, but kill freedom. I joked to the redhead that next will come autonomous kitchens to insure you eat properly, don’t waist and curb your weight. Who cares what it taste like, you’ll be safer and live longer.

Here’s another brief quote from “The Great Climate Warming Blunder,” by Roy Spencer a NASA Scientist: This situation allows climate alarmists like Mr. Gore to assert that there are no real climate scientists who dispute the scientific consensus. The public is left with a baised impression of the state of the science, because they have never heard about important work that has indeed been published.

And it would take only one research study to cause the global warming house of cards to collapse.

FIGHTING SUNDAY POST for January 21, 2018

By | General Posts

Hey,

We are living through interesting times. They are perplexing times and in some respects, I don’t get it. When the whole Global Warming threat kicked off so many folks gave into it, as if to say, “The oil companies have fucked with us in the past, I guess the regulators must be right.”

All the major players took a strange stance. The MIC and even SEMA just sort took on the notion that there was nothing they could do but negotiate with the regulators and pray for the best. And where were the oil companies during this era?

Now, when car companies and the whole motorcycle industry are struggling, they wonder and hire focus groups to find the problem.

And the media is complicit in the movement. Here’s another quote from a book published in 2008, Red Hot Lies by the “Climate Criminal,” Chris Horner:

Less alarming (or at least less useful) claims typically are of no interest (to our media). Little ink is spilled explaining how birds, fleas and trees produce more CO2 than humas, or tha cows’ CO2 and methane emissions dwarf those from autos. Well, silly, we aren’t looking to regulate birds, trees or fleas!

Watch for landing page changes next week.

So, are we going to fight back or go down with the ship? Let’s hit the news.

SAVE MOTORCYCLING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for January 18, 2018

By | General Posts

Hey,

It’s the middle of January in a new year. This is the time to center on our goals for this year and make a move.

There’s so much discussion going around about our industry, but much of the problem goes way beyond it. Did you know that Al Gore’s films has been aired in front of school children. In England it was stopped because of the fear is caused in kids.

I watched his first film and was impressed, but my concern has always been for motorcycling and riding free, so I questioned him. So much of his film is unfortunately lies. What’s worse is his policies will kill people and mostly poor people. Did you know Global Warming stopped in 2001. Did you know that temperatures rise first, then CO2 levels. Did you know CO2 levels are not a bad thing and were much higher thousands of years ago.

That’s just the tip of the bullshit iceberg that’s hurting so many of our industries including motorcycling. Let’s do something about it. Here’s a quote from Roy Spencer’s (NASA Scientist) “Global Warming Blunder:”

In my first book, Climate Confusion, I provided some qualitative reasons why I thought the climate models are wrong. But we have learned much more since that book was published in early 2008. We have uncovered scientific evidence that strongly suggest the fears of man-made global warming are unfounded. While scientists like NASA’s James Hansen and politicians like former Vice President Al Gore are increasingly warning us that we must act now to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the latest science is turning in the opposite direction.

Even though global temperatures have not risen in at least seven years, we are being told that the climate is changing faster than expected…

I’ll let you check out his books. He points out that science is the study of all factors good and bad, It’s does not stop at one assumption. What the hell do I know. I’m just a grubby biker. I won’t ever give up trying to keep us riding free.
