S&S Brings MASSIVE Horsepower To Legends Ride’s One-Off Commemorative Low Rider

By | General Posts | No Comments

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Buffalo Chip’s Legends Ride S&S Cycle, Inc. is debuting a 165-170 horsepower performance-styled Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider custom to be auctioned in support of the milestone event that kicks off in Deadwood, SD on Aug. 7. The fully customized Low Rider, designed to look and feel every bit a “muscle bike,” will be unveiled on Saturday, March 25 at 12:15 p.m. at the Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show in the St. Paul RiverCentre, St. Paul, Minn.

As the uncontested aftermarket leader in V-Twin performance parts for almost six decades, S&S Cycle transformed the 2017 club-style chopper into a sleek and stylish beast powered by a T143 Black Edition engine packing 143 cubic inches and 165 horsepower to the wheel. Harnessing that extra horsepower required S&S to upgrade the transmission, clutch and primary work. To clothe the powerful machine, S&S added a Russ Wernimont FXRT style fairing some Dyna Defender bags. The piece de resistance is the hot rod inspired striped paint job, which recalls the wildly popular classic muscle car, the Shelby Cobra.

“This incredibly beautiful and powerful bike created by the masters at S&S Cycle will be going up on the auction block at the Legends Ride this August,” said Rod Woodruff, President of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “It’s not only a real prize, but its sale will support the Ride, which has so far raised nearly half a million dollars for local charities including South Dakota Special Olympics and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. The top bidder is going to ride off on one incredible and unique motorcycle while feeling like a hero for supporting very worthy causes.”

To be one of the first to get a look at the 10th Anniversary Legends Ride bike, attend the official unveiling at the Donnie Smith Show on March 25. Information and photos will be posted at BuffaloChip.com after the event. The bike will be featured this summer in American Iron Magazine issue #351.

Danger to Jump Pit of Deadly Rattlesnakes at Sturgis Buffalo Chip

By | General Posts | No Comments

American stuntman Doug Danger plans to jump a pit of 2,000 live rattlesnakes at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017. More about the jump and the official announcement video can be found here.

“Doug is a professional who’s completed some incredible jumps, but this one is truly over the top,” said Rod Woodruff, Sturgis Buffalo Chip President. “He’s either the most courageous man I’ve ever met, or he’s got a genuine lack of fear. While we are doing all we can to ensure the safety of everyone in the amphitheater, including Doug, the threat to his life is real. These poisonous vipers will kill him nearly instantly should he fail.”

Prairie rattlers are known as one of the world’s deadliest snakes. One bite of a rattlesnake can kill a healthy man in the matter of a few minutes. It is reported that anti-venom can cost as much as $50,000 per injection, and an affected person may require several in order to survive, but only if administered in time. The snakes will be secured in holding tanks in an area designed to ensure the safety of all spectators.

The model of bike on which Danger will attempt this stunt further heightens the threat of receiving fatal rattlesnake bites. The 1972 Harley-Davidson XR750 was not engineered to leave the ground, nor was it manufactured to ensure a safe landing after doing so. But Danger has had a burning desire to jump this bike ever since seeing his hero, Evel Knievel, attempt both successful and not-so-successful stunts with the same bike.

Those wishing to witness Doug Danger’s Rattlesnake Jump may purchase passes at www.BuffaloChip.com. Danger’s death-defying stunt joins the previously announced American Flat Track Races in the lineup of spectacular entertainment for 2017.

New World Order Bikernet Weekly News for January 5, 2017

By | General Posts | No Comments

Hey,

I received a note from the MRF about a state trying to pass another helmet law.Over the last eight years we’ve seen a shift from a balanced approach to save everything. The notion that if one precious life could be saved we can torture thousands for years to prevent one death. Think about it from two prospectives.

First, the worst problem on the planet is overpopulation. And is the design to make health care a mega industry by keeping us alive as long as possible. Of course in the process, our freedoms fly out the window. I’m hoping to see freedom return as a priority in this country and a balanced approach for safety.

What do you think?

Doc Robinson's Postcard From Sturgis

It seems the AMD bike show is not being missed here in Sturgis at the Rally, with more bike shows being held than you can poke the proverbial stick at. Today’s efforts included the Road Iron/Eddie Trotta/Dirty Bird Concerts Bagger Show.Yep, baggers, baggers, baggers – where once the rally teemed with choppers, now it is Bagger City. The venerable Rat’s Hole show was held, the Hamsters Custom Bike Show Mayor’s choice Award, the Cycle Source Night time Chopper Show – the list goes on.

The big news, however, are the awesome new Indians which are generating huge interest.

All the signs are that the attendance this year is way up with many vendors reporting excellent sales. Bert Baker was smiling broadly, but then he almost always is, the boys at Performance Machine were putting in long hours fitting their superb wheel, the Kuryakyn display looked like an ant farm with customers jammed shoulder to shoulder shopping for all sorts of goodies and Mike Corbin was sitting back and purring like a Cheshire cat.

Thursday wrapped up for many rally patrons with a performance by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
