Five Red, White, and Blue DEAN guitars, five brave Purple Heart Combat Veterans, motorcycles, music, mayhem and memories were all shared on the 4th annual Heartstrings for Heroes HONORS CRUISE 2016 in Clearwater, Florida. You couldn't have asked for more perfect weather: sunny skies, 80 degrees and being in the wind hitting a few local stops on the poker run for a "Bloody Mary breakfast," before heading over to Clearwater Marina to for a 3-hour "float" around the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, aboard the Starlite Majesty . Freshening a 1999 Softail

Itā€™s more than 17 years since I first came into possession of this 1999 Softail Standard, which I bought used from Harleyā€™s press fleet. Bone stock, it had about 8,000 miles on the clock, and had reportedly been flogged by Dan Ackroyd on some cross-country mischief tour before I got my grubby hands on it.
