WORLDS SHORTEST Tech on Compensators: If the Stock Unit Starts a Knockin’, Better Start Rockin’

After installing Woods 777 cams in my 2014 Street Glide, my compensator was making a knocking noise due to the lope at idle from the cams. I ditched the compensator and went with the Twin Power 32t Compensator Eliminator. Read about the results at Bikernet.com

Weekend Round-Up Always Late

I’m a little scrambled today. A lot on my mind. I follow Lillian’s Feng Shui guide to my monthly approach. Okay, so it’s a bullshit confession, but hear me out. You could follow an astrological chart also, sorta same-same. It heightens my awareness. If for this month it says to watch out for bad deals, I try to stay alert. Generally, I hope for glorious months full of wild opportunities, more love and vast wealth. As you know, it doesn’t usually work out exactly, but what the hell, dare to dream. This month it called for being alert, and watchful. Lillian told me not to get involved in new deals. I’ve tried. Last Sunday I rode to my Son’s new tattoo gig. He’s now working for a Jon Deanda, who owns four or five saloons. He’s a big guy and heavily tattooed, but mellow and insightful. He’s been at it for a decade building on his line of tattoo parlors slowly. Frank is the manager of this shop on Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach, True at Heart Tattoos, a couple of blocks from the coast. I rode my Indian down for the grand opening. Fade back to the beginning of this and Lillian’s prospects for the month. It was a chilly day, gray and overcast from the previous rains. A cold wind blew sand across Pacific Coast Highway as I rolled south through Long Beach, into Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, across the Bolsa park and into Huntington Beach. Even in a gray February, Huntington was crowded with kids, tourists and the bling shops were open. I mistakenly made a left on Main and looked for a new Tattoo shop. About three blocks in, the compact in front of me pulled to the right as if to park then abruptly made

ALERT: Days of no federal challenge to Climate Bullsh*t Coming to an end! ‘Trump admin. planning to create ad hoc group of fed scientists to reassess & counter govt conclusions on climate change’

White House committee to reassess climate science conclusions: report BY MICHAEL BURKE The Trump administration is planning to create an ad hoc group of federal scientists to reassess and counter the government’s conclusions on climate change, The Washington Post reported Sunday. The National Security Council (NSC) initiative would feature scientists who challenge the seriousness of climate change and the degree to which humans are the cause of climate problems, three unidentified administration officials told the Post. The Post reported that the plan was discussed by administration officials on Friday in the White House Situation Room. It is considered a modified version of NSC senior director and climate change denier William Happer’s plan to create a panel on climate change and national security, according to the newspaper. The NSC declined to comment to the Post. At the Friday meeting, deputy national security adviser Charles Kupperman said President Trump was upset that the federal government last year released the National Climate Assessment, the Post reported. The National Climate Assessment warned that climate change could have devastating effects on the economy, health and environment and that current efforts to counter climate change were insufficient. Trump has been outspoken in doubting the effects of climate change, sometimes calling it a hoax. Following the release of last year’s climate assessment, Trump said that he didn’t “believe” the report’s findings.   –Climate Depot

Federal legislation would require proper labeling of E15 fuel and consumer education campaign

Contact your representative today to support H.R. 1024!   U.S. Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.) and U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel (D-Fla.) have reintroduced the “Consumer Protection and Fuel Transparency Act of 2019” in the U.S. House (H.R. 1024). The American Motorcyclist Association supports this bill. Take Action The AMA has repeatedly warned of the dangers of E15 (15 percent ethanol by volume) for motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, because none of the estimated 22 million motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles in use in the United States is certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to operate on fuel containing more than 10 percent ethanol. Use of E15 in vehicles not designed for its use can damage fuel system and engine components and void manufacturer’s warranties. This bipartisan legislation would require the EPA to revise the labeling requirements for pumps that dispense E15 and conduct a consumer education campaign to inform the public about the risks of improper use of E15 and the vehicles and equipment that are prohibited from using E15. Unlike current the current E15 label (below), which doesn’t mention motorcycles specifically, the new label would call out motorcycles, ATVs, boats, lawnmowers, chainsaws and snowmobiles with pictograms of these vehicles and equipment specifically prohibited from using E15. This would be a huge improvement over the current label, which can leave consumers guessing whether or not E15 is acceptable for their vehicle. Also included in this legislation are provisions specific to blender pumps that would require warnings about residual high-ethanol-content blends left in the fueling hose from the previous customer. This bill would finally warn consumers about this hidden risk. The public education campaign about the risks of E15 that is included in this legislation will take place on the fuel pumps themselves. The bill would direct the EPA to develop an

Hells Angels are selling their LES clubhouse

By Bob Fredericks February 22, 2019  The Hells Angels are dumping their infamous clubhouse on the Lower East Side — selling the building that had been their headquarters for half a century to a developer. The clubhouse at 77 E. Third St. — aka the “Church of the Angels” — is being sold to East 3rd Street, a New York limited liability Corporation. The firm is linked to Nathan Blatter of Whitestone Realty Group, a commercial real estate investor. No sale price was reported. Over the decades, the Angels were a visible presence in the neighborhood, from hanging out at punk dive CBGB in the ’70s to loafing on a bench outside the club — which caused problems when non-Angels started using it. Some of the bikers were also implicated in a 2016 shooting and in the 2018 beating of a deliveryman. Both beefs broke out over disputes about parking spots that the Angels claimed as their own. The feds tried to seize the building after a drug bust in 1985, charging that bikers used the clubhouse to conduct drug deals. But a jury ruled against the move in 1994. –from the New York Post and Sarge

Restore Bonneville UTAH Update

Cheers, kudos and thanks to the racing community for responding to the request to send emails to members of the Utah Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee. Your voices are being heard by Utah lawmakers, and it is making a difference! The Subcommittee ranked our “Restore Bonneville” budget request number 4 out of 28 budget requests. If it keeps this ranking, the State of Utah’s Restore Bonneville program should be funded within the state budget to be approved in mid-March. The program will dramatically increase the volume of salt being pumped onto Bonneville Salt Flats each year.   We are not finished Using a Bonneville analogy, we’ve made it through the 2-mile run-up and are entering the measured mile heading for the timing lights after a land speed restoration record. What it means The legislative throttle starts getting pushed down Monday, February 25th. ALL the budget requests must still be approved by the Executive Appropriations Committee, which could change the rankings. We will be asking you to contact the Executive Appropriation Committee members, most likely during the week and will provide the emails of all those we need you to reach out to with another letter. It can be the same letter that was sent to the Subcommittee members, or you may add something new. For those who have yet to send a letter, we will also provide a draft that you can adapt and personalize. The most important thing to know for this next “ask” is that when the request comes, we will need you to respond the same day if at all possible. The Utah Legislature works at supersonic speed in comparison to Washington DC and we have to show them we are just as fast as our sport implies. . . . .   Stayed tuned for an updated

The Knuckle Saloon is up for sale

STURGIS, S.D. (KOTA TV) – The Knuckle Saloon has been in Sturgis for nearly 20 years. Last month the owners decided it was time for a new venture, and put the downtown business on the market. The Knuckle’s five partners are now opening a new brewery, Sturgis Brewing Company, later this year. The building on Lazelle Street is 2,800 square feet, with retail and brewing capabilities. The current owners hope whoever buys the building will continue the legacy and they are excited to bring a new business to Sturgis. “That’ll take the Sturgis name out and they’ll be distributing all over. That’ll just help the rally; it will help the town, and it will provide jobs and economic impact too,” says Dan Martin, the realtor for The Knuckle Saloon. The Knuckle Saloon is selling for $6.2 million.   –By Meredith James

PROMOTIONAL BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS–It’s Happening Now

The News incredible, if I don’t say so myself. Sure, we promoted the new Long Road Bedroll, the 5-Ball Racing Sponsorship program and Hal Robinson art, but what the hell. We need to pay the taxes to house the homeless in Los Angeles, and the DWP, because our welder is buzzing constantly on the Salt Torpedo. I say the news is amazing because of so much more than just the promotional stuff. The legislative action is flying, good and bad. And all the efforts to make motorcycling more attractive and accessible are growing, while some countries want to ban us. It’s nuts and exciting. I even was able to finish a freedom-based motorcycle screenplay recently. You’ll see it mentioned. If produced, it would go a long way toward making biking exciting again. https://www.bikernet.com/pages/PROMOTIONAL_BIKERNET_WEEKLY_NEWS.aspx Check out the news, if you get a chance. Chance of a lifetime. –Bandit
